In the circumstances of the current pandemics caused by the new coronavirus, we wish to inform you the following:
If you are in an area affected by the pandemic and if the courses / placement activities have been suspended or the foreign university where you are enrolled as an Erasmus student has closed, you may decide to interrupt your Erasmus mobility due to a force majeure cause.
Before interrupting your mobility:
- Please inform the partner university where you are currently studying, and receive an answer.
- Please request a certificate that specifies the actual period of time you have spent there. If the current circumstances do not allow you to obtain the certificate in its original printed format, please ask for it in an electronic format, scanned (signed and stamp) and then to have the original printed and sent by regular mail, as soon as possible.
The interruption of the mobility due to a force majeure cause implies conducting a procedure of validation of your request by the National Agency for Community Programs in the field of Education and Vocational Training, which manages the Erasmus programmes (with the prior approval of the Council of Administration of the UMF). During this procedure, it will be decided concerning the reimbursement of certain expenses made by you in advance (for instance, transportation) and it will be decided upon the amount of the grant which will be returned by the beneficiary student following the interruption of the Erasmus mobility. Please keep any document proving such expenses. We will inform you regarding the steps of the procedure at the relevant time.
If you decide to return to Romania, you MUST COMPLY with a period of self-isolation / quarantine imposed imposed by the Romanian authorities.
The students who interrupt their mobility will join the courses offered on the online platform of the UMF Cluj, together with their colleagues.
